More on Single Level Domains and Exchange 2007

In this article I reported on the fact (then) that single level domains were not supported in Exchange Server 2007 sp1.

Microsoft, as of today (February 15, 2008) has changed their position on single-level domains and Exchange Server 2007. This is the Microsoft Exchange Team blog post on the topic.

It's worthwhile to note a couple of things:

1) They'll support it - but will not change things that don't work with it
2) It will NOT be supported in the next version of Exchange (code-named E14)
3) A domain rename tool is NOT planned for Exchange 2007
4) Outlook Anywhere/Autodiscover will not work properly in a SLD

Until next time...

As always, if there are items you would like me to talk about, please drop me a line and let me know!
