A Rookie Mistake - Moving Mailboxes

I am embarassed. I spent over an hour today trying to figure out what I had done wrong and what the problem was.

In the process of migrating a client's mailboxes from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007, the move-mailbox wizard was giving me an error I had never seen before.

And, some mailboxes worked. Other mailboxes didn't. WTF?!?!?!

So...I'm an idiot. When you create a new mailbox store in Exchange 2007, it assigns mailbox limits! Exchange 2000 and Exchange 2003 RTM don't do this!

Bah. Humbug.

The lesson? Along with other global settings, copy the LIMITS tab on the mailbox stores from the old Exchange server to the new Exchange server.

Until next time...

As always, if there are items you would like me to talk about, please drop me a line and let me know!
